The higher ups at the school seem toBrightBiology
The higher ups at the school seem to treat you more like an ATM than a person. If your family suddenly finds itself in financial difficulty (my dad died one semester,) don't expect any need based financial aid. The school prefers the performance based approach; how they expect anyone to perform well academically after a death in the family is beyond me, but the financial aid system at BU in general is borderline offensive.Social class permeates the entire school--unspoken, denied, ignored, the atmosphere reeks of spoiled kids' and their sense of entitlement.

Question
BU is the last place to go ifSuper BrilliantBiology
BU is the last place to go if you want school spirit or greenery on campus. Campus is chaotic and badly planned. I liked my professors though, and they're really helpful if you show an interest. There are some very intelligent people, especially in higher level classes. Large part of the student body just wants to have fun, and are at BU just for the city. People are friendly, but the bureaucracy is terrible. I'm transferring to Rice University, and the only part of BU that I'd miss would be the friends I made. Another thing: BU's aid policies aren't as great as they make them out to be. The process of allotting scholarships is almost arbitrary. I had a 1460 out of 1600 on my SAT 1, top 10% in high school, etc etc...didn't get a penny from BU. I did get into Rice with nearly a full tuition schol as a transfer. Also, if you don't get aid when entering, BU policy is not to give scholarships to continuing students. Be aware of these things before enrolling. Overall, you need to TRY hard to not be counted as a number. All in all, I don't think it was worth it. Too expensive too.
