This school is big and you really needQuite BrightBiology
This school is big and you really need to make an effort to do well and to meet people. there's not much school spirit floating around and events are not well-advertised, but i feel its been improving. the professors are quite good and there are so many resources open to you, esp in the city of boston. beware of rats.

Question
When I pictured my freshman year, I thoughtQuite BrightAthletics/Training
When I pictured my freshman year, I thought I would be challenged by my academics, have a chance to explore different classes outside of my major, become like a family with my hall, go out and have fun in Boston with my friends, and overall never want to leave. However, when I came, it was easy to meet people but hard to keep friends. I was accepted into CGS which limited the freedom to choose courses and actually put me behind in my major. I now have to do another year and have no freedom to take electives. My floor was very anti social. I would see people on my floor and not know if they lived there or not. My RA made an effort to make us a family, but no one was interested. My roommate was very close minded and not respectful. My experience did not get better until I joined my sorority. I do not know how people make life long friends at this school without being involved in greek life, which is not even that involved at BU. There is no social life at BU. The only thing available for under 21ers is frat parties, and even they are exclusive. Everything shuts down in the city after 9. They even made girls pay to get in and what you are paying for is for hot sweaty people rubbing up on you, getting beer poured on you, skanky girls pushing you, and gross pervy drunk guys attempting to dance with you. When I went home for holidays, I did not have that yearning to go back like many of my friends. I actually did not want to go back, and it was not that I was homesick. In a nutshell, BU did not meet my expectations.
