It's a good place to go if you have NOWHERE else to go. Both my parents attended STCC and given the money you save by attending STCC instead of a 4 year school I suppose it's worth it but my first semester was the worst time I have ever had in school in my life. I grew up loving school and assumed that by coming to STCC I would get a high quality education and I assumed wrong. Most professors are used to kids who don't care so if you're a student who does care you can very easily be lost in the crowd. My second semester has been better but I have been actively applying to different schools. For me, staying here for another year would be torture. Of course there are a small few decent professors and some nice people. The school is located in the rough end of Springfield with little attempts at security. There was a dead body found in a parking lot last year for goodness sake! I've never had problems personally but it's just not the best place to spend your money or time if you could do better.
