There were many good things about Cornell. I thought it attacted an interesting and diverse group of students, and the people who I met were, for the most part, motivated and intelligent. I wasn't into the Greek system, but was able to meet plenty of students who had other interests as well, and for the most part, people who were Greek that I associated with through classes and extracurricular activities were perfectly pleasent and friendly.

There are tons of extracurricular groups on campus to accomodate all interests. The sole problem is that due to the large size of the student body, positions on some teams/groups may be a bit harder to come by/more competitive than they would be in a smaller environment.

I did not find the faculty to be all that accessible, which was disappointing. You need to be very aggressive in terms of arranging time to meet with professors etc. I don't think I realized how disinterested some of my professors were in teaching until I went to law school at a different institution, where faculty were far more accessible.

However, the academic quality of the coursework was high, although some of the classes were quite large. In addition, there was a great variety of classes available to suit almost all interests.

The campus was absolutely beautiful, and I felt that the town offered a reasonable number of amenities in terms of bars, restaurants, music venues for students.
