GW truly is a great place. I am in the Comm program, which is one of the only majors you have to apply for once you are already a student in the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences. I find the professors to be brilliant - I am getting a very broad comm education including an amazing PR class and the opportunity to write and conduct original research. GW is one of the only schools that actually requires its undergrad comm majors to write a thesis, which has turned out to be a really great experience.

As for other programs, I know my friends in the business school work very hard. International Affairs is one of the best programs in the U.S., and SMPA students get a superb education (though they work very very hard).

The facilities are incomparable. The new business school just opened one year ago. SMPA and Elliot are also less than five years old. Gelman library is constantly being improved. The dorms represent night and day - freshman year I lived in Thurston, which while gross, is the best freshman experience I could have imagined (at any school). Now, as a junior, I live in City Hall, which is gorgeous and used to be a nice hotel.

Nightlife is great - clubs, bars, frats- whatever you're into. Drugs are good and readily available (but expensive). Being in DC, you can go shopping when you want, go to museums, get an internship and eat at great restaurants.

Definitely go here if you can get in.
