Major: Education (This Major's Salary over time)
Especially for education majors, this school is a great deal for the money. Tuition is cheap, the teachers are generally approachable (if not friendly outright), and the students seem focused in general. The combination of a slightly older population, with the lack of the 'traditional' collegiate atmosphere (read the absence of campus residential facilities) seems to engender more of a focus on classes among the student population, which is one of the most diverse in the nation. What is extremely admirable about this school is its commitment to diversity and access to a college education. This school is not without its problems, however: 1) there is a minimum of student participation on campus, and those that do so are dramatic to the point of ridicule; 2)The actual education is good, but the administration is ass-backwards; 3) Despite some well-meaning improvements, the campus looks like a soviet housing block, 4)Its a commuter school with inadequate transportation facilities (insufficient parking, inconvienent public transportation, not really close to anything, etc)If you're just out of high school and have the ability to go to a more traditional school, do so. If you are older and don't need the whole 'finding yourself' experience, come on down, just be prepared to circle the block looking for a parking spot or walking two blocks to the nearest bus stop
