Date: May 21 2004 Major: Accounting (This Major's Salary over time) I was an accounting major and I believe that the biggest challenge was that TTU was not accredited. TTU's reputation was non-existent and that made securing a good accounting position difficult. I was fortunate (downright lucky) that I got the position I did. I then decided to go to law school and much to my surprise the Univ. of TN did not even accept my application because of TTU's lack of accreditation. I ended up attending a fine law school (much better than UT, actually). But, this was in spite of TTU.I am now an associate in a large national law firm. Again, not because of TTU, but because I worked really hard in law school. I have had to answer countless questions in the interviewing process about TTU (no one has ever heard of it) and why I decided to go there. I have no good answer. My advice would be to go to a different school. As someone else has pointed out, there are schools of far better quality out there, whether Christian (Wheaton, Cedarville, Lee, Messiah) or otherwise (too many to mention). In all honesty, one does NOT need to attend a Christian college for character building. A person's faith should be strong enough to "withstand" a secular education. In the end, you will be a more balanced person, have a healthier world view and be much better equipped to thrive in a "secular" profession.Even if one chooses a religious-based profession, again there are better chooses out there. Unfortunately, TTU has seen its better days.
