It's a good place to go if you have NOWHERE else to go. Both my parents attended STCC and given the money you save by attending STCC instead of a 4 year school I suppose it's worth it but my first semester was the worst time I have ever had in school in my life. I grew up loving school and assumed that by coming to STCC I would get a high quality education and I assumed wrong. Most professors are used to kids who don't care so if you're a student who does care you can very easily be lost in the crowd. My second semester has been better but I have been actively applying to different schools. For me, staying here for another year would be torture. Of course there are a small few decent professors and some nice people. The school is located in the rough end of Springfield with little attempts at security. There was a dead body found in a parking lot last year for goodness sake! I've never had problems personally but it's just not the best place to spend your money or time if you could do better.

This is an amazing school to attend ifSuper BrilliantOther
This is an amazing school to attend if you want to transfer to a 4 year school. I transferred and graduated from UMASS. I enjoyed my classes at STCC more than Umass. At a 4 year school the first 2 years are spent taking general education classes. At STCC you can complete 2 years and complete all your general eds and transfer into a state school/university as a junior. Its a great program that saves a lot of money. Dont waste your time taking classes under 100 level because they wont transfer.

This college is good for education but itQuite BrightEngineering Department
This college is good for education but it is not good for sports for regular students. Also, the people in the department of your major may be nice. But the financial aid staff and the bursar office is not appropriate and rude. Very few people are there to listen to your complain. I would try to avoid recommending this college to other students.
