BU has very strict policies about drugs andQuite BrightPsychology
BU has very strict policies about drugs and alcohol..this school does not allow you to party, i promise. I was kicked out of housing with 5 other people freshman year for the odor of marijuana.. nothing found folks.. just the odor. Grade deflation is incredibly high, making it a next to impossible task to ever achieve an A in any class, and forget trying to transfer from your current major into another BU division - they dont allow this without a GPA that is unnattainable due to grade deflation. Further.. BU charges so much just to attend, then continues to charge students money even to make photocopies in the library... so much for free facilities.

Question
This school is more of a liberal artsQuite BrightEngineering Department
This school is more of a liberal arts school i feel. the engineering program is nothing to brag about, sure Biomed is strong here, but the rest of the programs feel uncared for.. the biomed eng. students have special classes, the rest don't. also BU places a strong emphasis on writing, their writing courses are probably the hardest in the country, and for engineers we are required to take writing up to wr150, so in average, eng. students are required to take a year of writing, not just normal writing, hardcore writing classes (that i dont think gives out As). I dont know why such high levels of writing would be required, especially for engineering.. so if u like writing but dont care ur grades for it(they hardly give out As, or at all), u'll like it here. For me(i hate writing), despite my As for my other subjects, my writing course dropped my contention from being a competitive transfer student.. so maybe i'll see u here...

oh yeah.. class averages are very high too, say 75%~85%... so yeah... the community college feel in a huge private college...dont get me wrong, its a fun school, social is great, u can get drunk everyday of the week, or even change girl everyday.. u can find a lot of different people here, rich, smart, good looking, poor, stupid, butt-ugly.. but if ur serious about engineering, give BU a skip..

Question
I've only been at BU for a year,Quite BrightCommunications
I've only been at BU for a year, and coming from Illinois, I was quite afraid of culture shock. But the truth is, I love it. I'm in COM, and though lots of students complain, the college really prepares you for real life. It's challenging, but not too much. Yeah, it doesn't have a 'real' campus, but how can you complain?! We're in the heart of the city, right by Fenway. Hell, I can see the games from the top floor of my dorm, doesn't get much better than that.
