My experiences outside of the classroom have moldedBusiness - Management and Administration
My experiences outside of the classroom have molded me into a much more secure and cultured person than I had would have ever imagined. The mix of students from every remote place in the world creates an environment of learning which is unparallel. There are far better schools than BU in terms of academics, however, most schools in the world envy the diversity of BU's student body. And for a management student, this out of class learning is far more palpable in the real world, than is knowing a few more formulas.

Question
Boston University is a world-class institution.Economics
Boston University is a world-class institution. Unfortunately, it usually takes some time after one graduates to realize just how advanced an education one has received from BU. I have been out of BU for about ten years, and, as a management consultant, have worked with ivy-league educated folks from a host of Fortune 500 companies. I would submit that 90 percent of the people that I have worked with cannot write to save their lives.

The ability to write well is profoundly important- regardless of profession. I remember my freshman year at BU, and how harsh my English professor was (the class was EN-104, for those who remember). We wrote two short papers per week for the semester. And, virtually every other class I took, whether 100 level or 400 level, required extensive amounts of writing.

Boston University teaches all of its students you how to write, and therefore how to think. That, friends, is invaluable. Every BU graduate I know can write clearly, effectively, and intelligently. To the current students who complain about how difficult and/or seemingly non-sensical the writing requirements are at BU: you will figure it out once you spend some time in the proverbial 'real world'.
