Excellent insitution with some really bad management issues. The amount of money that an individual pays to attend here is comparible to that of a person attending Tech in Cambridge, but you get a lesser education. Bear in mind that it is a strictly research driven school so sometimes profs are too busy for themselves, let alone you the student. But the students make the school and the students here are awesome and my department tends to shield me from the shit that flies around here at times. So all in all, I think I can live with my decision.

BU is a great place given that you like where you live. I had a miserable time freshman year living in a second-rate dorm on a floor where there was a some hostility (it was all female). This year, though, I live on a great floor in a nice dorm and I love it. Pray that you get placed on a good floor, or it will seriously hinder your social life.

Classes were always great for me, especially the upper-level ones where the information is less broad and more specific to my major. Professors, contrary to popular belief, generally want to help students and are easily available outside class. I have relationships with professors that I had last year that I still keep in touch with.Come to BU if you're an independent person since this place is so vast. It's essential that you find your niche, be it athletics, academics, or even performing.
